Fair Day!!!

On Friday we went to the Oklahoma State Fair.  I haven't been since 2009, not a lot has changed.  It is so expensive there.  $33 for us to get in, and almost another $40 for 5 things of nachos (with stale chips), 2 corn dogs (that were hard and cold), and 3 bottle waters.  Yikes!!  We didn't ride rides, that would of been another $120 for arm bands.  No thanks!  We walked around, the kids were dissappointed that they didn't get much in the way of free things (at the Shawnee Free Fair they got bags, pens, pencils, stickers, coloring pages, water, fly swatter, candy).  I do think the fair is more geared towards adults or teens, not really small children.  The weather was rainy and gloomy, but we still had a nice time. Here are a few photos.

Little man was pretty good.  I did have to carry him a lot.  A 19 pound baby, plus a camera that is pretty heavy, made me sore!  LOL!  It's my old age getting to me.  :)

The only two photos I got of the kids.  They are out of focus.  :(  And I didn't get one with all of them.  :*(  And none with me.  :(  Maybe next time.

  1. You did much better than me and Steven. We spent $60 for just us too. And it was free for us to get in. We got a cheese stick, Steven got a chicken bacon kabob that cost $13!!! A blooming onion, we went into the butterfly house which was $6 then we had a guy do a drawing a Landon which was $15 and of course some how we lost the drawing. So for a family of 8 for $73 isn't too bad... at least compared to us. If we could get in for free again, I would be going back! I love the fair! But the Affair of the Heart is coming soon so that makes me happy.

  2. Oh wow!!! That stinks about the drawing though! :( I wish the food that we had eaten was better, or maybe I'm glad that it wasn't good, since I would have spent even more on food. LOL! I wish the kids had gotten more things, they would of liked it more. I haven't been to the Affair of the Heart in years, probably 10 years. I can't even remember.

  3. Yeah the food wasn't too good for us either. I mean the cheese stick was just a normal cheese stick, nothing amazing, Steven like the chicken bacon kabob but the blooming onion wasn't good. You could taste the old grease and it wasn't cut well so you couldn't really pull it apart and eat it.

Oh I love the Affair of the Heart! So much arts and crafts! I already told Steven that I don't care that he works that Saturday... we are going Sunday and he can't say no. :)
