Oklahoma.
My heart breaks for Oklahoma. Last night my town that I live in was hit by three tornadoes. One was about 5 miles from my house, and two people did lose their lives in one of those tornadoes. We could actually see it. It was so scary and I don't have have a shelter. But fortunately we were safe. We seeked shelter and our house was fine. Today, more tornadoes for Oklahoma. Moore was hit so badly, that words cannot express the damage. The tornado was over two miles wide. It was huge!! Watching it on TV was a nightmare. The tornado hit two elementary schools. One school all the children were ok, what a miracle! The other school wasn't so lucky. They are still missing 24 or so students, young children. And they are thinking they are all dead. My heart hurts. My soul hurts. As a mother, I send my children to school knowing they will be safe. That they are in good hands. And those wonderful teachers did everything that they could to save those children, but it wasn't enough. Brick walls, hallways, closets are not enough to protect anyone from Mother Nature. Over 50 people have lost their lives today. Many are children. And many more are feared to be dead. My mind is racing. I cant rest. All I can do is think and stare at the tv. I hope and pray that they find more children alive, hidden somewhere safe. But I fear that won't be the case. Thoughts and prayers to everyone involved in all these storms.

College
I see why people don't go back to school. Books are a huge rip off! $364 dollars for three books. And one is used. One is rented. And one is new because I had to have both parts. And I'm a long way from being done, but since the school shooting in Connecticut I'm thinking about teaching isn't for me. I have mixed feelings right now. Defending my students is fine and I know I could do that but I plan on
teaching at my children's school. It would be hard to defend my students knowing my children could be hurt. Time will tell now. I have been having panic attacks during the night over the shootings so I'm not sure what will happen right now.

Day 4 of 30 days of Thankfulness
30 days of thankfulness- Day four: I am thankful for the internet. I do so much on the internet- pay bills, post photos, facebook, school, check my children's grades, etc.. I can't imagine life without it now.

Jeri (Jerrie) Scott Review
This review is for anymore looking to have Jeri Scott at Rose State.
I have been enrolled in Psychology with Jeri (Jerrie) Scott for two months
now. This has been the worst experience with
a professor/ teacher ever! First off,
Rose State changed the course book this year and it took Jeri Scott almost a
month to figure out that it was a different book. A Month into our class! At that time she did make an announcement on
the announcement page. At that time
though, Quiz 1 was due. Well most of the
class did very poorly with Quiz 1… including me. I emailed her since she had still yet to
reply to any student on the message forum.
I told her I didn’t do well on the quiz and was looking for a little
help. She then asked if I read the chapter
it was over (which I did and took notes and studied it), and then said I was
also suppose to read another part of the book (pages 400 and something)… that
was news to me! So I decided it was ok,
and I would do better next time. In the
next month, we had an activity due, I got mine back and passed and did ok, but
whatever I missed I am clueless about because she didn’t “correct” the paper…
all she said was “you needed to go into more details”.. Then I had a test due the next day, I did
fine on that also. Once again I have no idea what I missed so I was not
learning the material at all. What gets me is.. this last week we had
another activity due. We knew it was due
for about a month, and Jeri Scott “opened” the lesson about 3 weeks ago. Well the week it was due, about 3 days
actually before the due date, many students had completed the activity and it
was turned in, she went and changed the activity. Closed the first activity and reopened it as
a different activity with the same due date!
And she didn’t make an announcement or say anything at all about
it. NOTHING! That is so wrong. Bad teaching!
She is a very lazy teacher. Her
class is a lecture, but she never lectures.
She never says anything. You are
expected to read the book and basically guess which pages to read, and you
never know when the lesson will change.
It’s like a game; I don’t have time for games. I need a teacher that teaches. So if you are thinking about taking
Psychology with Rose State College, stay away from Jeri Scott!

New journey....
Tomorrow morning starts a new journey for my little guy! He will start Kindergarten. :sniff sniff: Mommy isn't ready at all. He seems to be ready for the most part, I do think he is nervous about it though. He is excited to be at school with his older brothers. I know we will love this teacher, so that will be a huge help! He did awesome on Friday on his Evaluation test. I am sure this week will be hard on him, he isn't use to being away from me like that nor am I use to being away from him either. But I hope he has a wonderful year!!!

These are from the morning the boys started school. It was a STRESSFUL morning. But now all is well. The boys like their teachers, we have a meet the teacher night on Thursday.
My oldest being silly. :) He wasn't all that excited but he is a pretty good actor!
My little 2nd grader!! He was more excited then this.
And my 3rd grader with his eyes closed. He isn't a morning person at all!!

First Day....
Well today is the first day of school for 3 of my 4 school aged children. This morning was rough! My 6th grader didn't care to even go to school. But he went, we aren't sure about his teacher yet since she is new. But he will have several teachers this year, since he switches classes. My 3rd grader hates change (much like myself) and started crying this morning. I couldn't leave him while he was crying. He was hoping for a different teacher then he got, but I think he will like her once he gets to know her. Thankfully one of his male friends who is also in his class came in and he was better. My 2nd grader walked into his class and informed the teacher that she was messing up his tv time... got to love his personality! He isn't shy at all. Then I found out that my soon to be Kindergartener (he starts Monday) has a teacher that we were not hoping for. It flipped me out badly, but thankfully the school switched him and he has the same teacher my last Kindergartener had... and she is awesome!! You can tell she loves her job and the kids! So now it is 12:40 and I still have 2 more hours till the older boys get out of school so I can find out about their first day and see them again!!!! I hope they all four have a wonderful year!

Back to School
Today is the last day of summer break... wait, what? Summer is over?!?!? How did that happen? It seems like it was just May and we were just starting summer break. Tomorrow morning 3 of my 4 school aged children will start school. My little Kindergartener doesn't start till Monday, so I get a few extra days with him. But I know there will be tears on Monday... and possibly tomorrow too. I am not ready for them to go back to school. I am not ready for alarm clocks, home work, bedtimes, and everything else that goes along with school. I hope my little guys have a great year and learn a lot... now to count down to Christmas break!
